Why MamaLean Fitness?
Who I am:
I’m a runner, a fitness enthusiast, a personal trainer, a teacher, and a mom. I’m constantly in awe of what the body can do. After all, I grew 2 humans in 2 years, and I’m fitter than I’ve ever been.
Moms are the strongest people I know, and they need to be fit in order to cope with the daily demands placed on their bodies. (If you don’t believe me, try lifting a baby carrier, diaper bag, and baby… in heels.) I’ve learned that if you can birth and then be responsible for keeping a little helpless human alive and relatively happy, you can handle any workout!
The energy and discipline I bring to my own fitness and parenting is the same that I bring to my clients. If you feel limited by your body, it’s time for a change. I can teach you to work your body so that it works for you.
(Did I mention I’m also a certified English teacher? Poetry and plyometrics, anyone?)
How I can get you the body you want:
You can’t spot-train fat, you can’t diet indefinitely, and you can’t out-train a poor diet. What you can do is make a series of lifestyle changes that make you fit and confident. I can help you make those changes because I’ve had to make them myself.
My approach is holistic and practical. I create fitness programs tailored for busy moms who need efficient, flexible training plans to work with their schedules. While working out may seem like a luxury, it’s really essential to your health, both physical and mental. I get it: You probably have 98457 other things to do before you crash for the night, and your baby is screaming, again. But baby will be happier in the long run when he/she has a happy, more energetic mommy :).
If you want to work with me, we’ll create short-term and long-term goals that keep you motivated. We’ll focus on functional workouts that keep you safe and make everyday activities (lifting the babies and baby gear, for example) easier. We’ll audit your current food and sleep (or lack thereof) situations. Then we’ll create a plan to make you MamaLean fit.

How MamaLean Fitness Isn’t Your Typical Personal Trainer:
*I’ll watch your baby while I kick your butt. Is your newborn screaming? I’ll rock her as you roll… around on the exercise ball, breathing to reactivate your core. Is your “baby” running around and talking? I’ll play with him/her, too :).
*I’ll teach you the science behind the moves. I’m a teacher by trade. I want to arm you with the knowledge to continue exercising properly and effectively on your own.
*I know the ins and outs of a post-partum body. I have 2 children. I also have a specialization in women’s fitness. I’ll help you through the crucial rehab period so your core is strong and ready to amp up the intensity later on.
*I’ve been in your shoes. I gained 52 lbs while pregnant with my first, and just over 40 lbs with my second. My back ached. My breasts ached. It hurt to sit. Walking up stairs was an Olympic feat. I started back at zero and I’ve fought my way to a fitter, happier me despite the sleepless nights and working full-time. I don’t accept excuses and I don’t quit, and I’m not going to let you get away with that, either.

I train moms—new, veteran, and pregnant—to be fit, strong, and sexy while making everyday tasks, like lifting children and carrying groceries, easier. Moms tend to put themselves last; I put them first, helping them relieve aches and pains, prevent injury, and become lean and powerful so they can really enjoy their bodies.
