The Prenatal Body

Exercise is one of the best ways to prepare for childbirth. That’s why the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommends at least 150 minutes/week of light to moderate aerobic activity. There are also many strengthening and stabilizing exercises pregnant women can do to prepare their bodies for the physical feat of labor and childbirth, and help ease their transition to a postpartum exercise program. Even if you’ve never exercised a day in your life, pregnancy is a great excuse to start a new, healthy routine, not to mention alleviate the aches and pains of your changing body.
